Ground reinforcement work | SMD method that facilitates smooth processing of confirmation applications with efficient approval procedures.

The SMD method, which has ministerial certification and is optimal for structures subject to administrative guidance during the application for confirmation, such as those with a design bearing capacity exceeding 30 kN/m², existing retaining walls, and buildings with basements.

Ground reinforcement work is a foundational technology that physically prevents the risk of uneven settlement faced by building structures and ensures the long-term structural safety of buildings. The SMD pile method provided by Geotech Co., Ltd. is a highly reliable construction method certified by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, developed to address complex structures subject to building confirmation applications and administrative guidance. This method demonstrates its true value under stringent design conditions, such as buildings with basements where the design ground bearing capacity exceeds 30 kN/m², existing retaining walls requiring embedment to the angle of repose, and steel-framed buildings of 3 to 4 stories. In cases where ground improvement methods result in insufficient bearing capacity and precast pile installation leads to excessive specifications and high costs, it provides overwhelming end bearing capacity and excellent economic efficiency to solve these issues. It is equipped with an objective and clear bearing capacity calculation formula derived from standard penetration tests (N values), allowing for rapid and smooth passage through administrative reviews. We offer a consistent system from consultation to design support and on-site management, proposing safe and rational ground reinforcement solutions.

Ground reinforcement work | SMD method to optimize pile layout for mid-rise buildings and steel structures.

The SMD method optimizes pile layout with its enormous tip support strength due to a special inner and outer wing structure, significantly reducing foundation costs for mid-rise buildings and steel structures.

Ground reinforcement work is an essential process to eliminate the risk of settlement that buildings face and to ensure long-term safety from a structural foundation perspective. In particular, insufficient ground measures in mid-rise steel and reinforced concrete structures, as well as large constructions that require high ground bearing capacity, can lead to distortion of the structure and serious defects. The SMD pile method provided by Geotech Co., Ltd. is a small-diameter rotary penetration steel pipe pile method certified by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, featuring special outer and inner wings attached to the open-type steel pipe tip. During rotary penetration, the inner wings appropriately capture soil to suppress core deviation during excavation, and when the target depth is reached, the soil inside the pipe completely blocks it, demonstrating tremendous end bearing capacity. This excellent support performance allows for a reduction in the number of piles and a decrease in the shaft diameter compared to conventional precast concrete piles and large-diameter piles, significantly optimizing the overall layout plan of foundation work. Our company has established a consistent system from prior foundation design support to on-site construction and torque data management, proposing ground reinforcement that ensures structural safety and achieves substantial cost reductions.
